What I’ve been up to.

Sorry I haven’t posted anything as of late, but I want to give you an update of what I have been doing.  I’ve been helping out with a local science fiction/fantasy convention in Rochester, NY called Astronomicon.  They are having a fan film awards at the convention and doing promotional work for them.

As for season 2 for the podcast, I have a new picture to scan and add to the site and the opening credits.  Looking for new ideas for topics for future episodes and if you have any ideas I would love to hear them.  I hope to make season 2 better then season 1.

Episode 1-8: Season One Recap [Season Finally]

This is the season one finally of the Radical Geek. I recap season one, show some bloopers and 2 interviews that I couldn’t get in previous episodes. First interview is with Dr. Pinkerton and Dr. Z of the Consortium of Genius also know as the C.O.G. A collection of mad scientists that rock. The second interview is with musician and cartoonist TV’s Kyle that is a funny musician that has hits on the funny music project. I hope you enjoyed season one and look forward to season 2 coming in 2013.

You Tube

I’m thinking of moving my videos I make from blip.tv to youtube because I think they would get more viewers and I would like the feedback.

I’m thinking of making a documentary on DRM.

Lately I have been thinking of doing a documentary on DRM.  Talk to the people that are for it and those that are against.  Find out what DRM is and what it does.

Need Questions for Q & A episode.

For episode 8 I want to read some feedback and answer questions you might have.  So comment to this post and I might read it on the next video.

Episode 1-7: Taking it to Roc-Con

In episode 7, I go to the Rochester Sci-fi and Anime Convention a.k.a. Roc-Con.  This is a Sci-fi/Anime Convention in Rochester, NY, and I interview the groups at the con.  First interview is with the Center for Paranormal Investigation Association(CPIA), a local ghost hunting group that is part of the TAPS family.  They talk about ghost hunting and the equipment they use.  Second is the 501st Legion’s Garrison Excelsior of the Empire in the Star Wars universe. The talk about making costumes, and the charity and public service they do.

Thirdly is the Cosplayers Movie, a romantic comedy about cosplayers and their trials and tribulations. Also find out a little move about cosplaying.  Fourth group interviewed is Rochester, NY Ghostbusters, a Ghostbusters fan group where the will talk about the props they make based on the movies and cartoons and their public appearances.  Lastly it’s the Lego Robotics Camps that teach kids about robotics to navigate around challenges that they have to program to overcome.

Roc-Con

If you want to meet me and possibly be on the Radical Geek I will be at Rochester Sci-fi/Anime Con in Rochester, NY on September  21-23, 2012.  I hope to have video for Episode 7 and talk to people.  If you are going to be there and want to be on the show say so in the comments section.

Robot Monster Costume

I have been kicking around the idea for a costume from the movie Robot Monster.  The monster was a gorilla suit and antique dive helmet.  Looks like the dive helmet is going to be a problem.  I will keep brainstorming on it.

Episode 1-6: Otaku Cosplayer Uprising

Rochester, NY Otaku is a local group where members are fans of Japanese Animation (a.k.a. Anime). At their local picnic I talk to the people there and show off the costume of the characters they dress as. Talk about cosplaying and there love of the medium of Anime. Also a special surprise at the end.

Episode 1-5: Hamming it up

This episode I went to the Rochester, NY Hamfest. Talked to some of the Ham Radio people from Rochester DX Association, and Drumlins’ Amateur Radio Club.  Also talked to Renewable Rochester about the benefits of solar power.
