Episode 1-3: Dementia Music Unlimited Part 1

This episode I bring you part 1 of a 2 part series on Comedy Music, also know as Dementia in some circles.  Comedy music covers many styles of music from Jazz to Hip Hop and everything in between.  The artists I have for part 1 are Dino-Mike (www.dino-mike.com), singer, a lyricist, but most importantly a musician.  Next is The Gothsicles(www.thegothsicles.com), Chicago’s ultrasweaty industrial dance dorkstorm.  Lastly is Devo Spice(www.devospice.com) a nerdcore and comedy rapper from New Jersey who has been called “the red-headed stepson of Weird Al Yankovic and Eminem.”  Many of the artist in part 1 and 2 can be found at The Funny Music Project(www.thefump.com).

New Equipment

I just bought a new camcorder and tripod for the podcast.  Now I can get a stable video and can attach a microphone to it to get the sound
better.

Press Pass

Now I have a press pass so that I can be identified as a member of the press.

Crash ‘n’ Burn

Long time ago I made a board game called Crash ‘n’ Burn. It was based off Demolition Derby. I found the rules and the game pieces that I thought I lost on my PC. I’m going to post them here. You can print it out and play test the game.

Radical Geek in 2012

Looking forward to the new year and where I want to take my video podcast. Last post I talked about getting a new camera. I thought of some other things that I would love to change. For one having my own domain maybe useful. I know someone is squatting on radicalgeek.com. Would rather have radicalgeek.net. Also thinking of having ads on my video. That would take a business address. So I was thinking of a P.O, Box. The idea with the kickstarter page may not be a bad idea to raise funds for a video camera and tripod. Since I’m going to go to events I think that press credentials may also be a good thing to have. I hope that 2012 will be better year for the Radical Geek.

I need a real camera

I has at Interlock Rochester, the local hacker space, experimenting with the microphone connected to my camera and not on my camera. There is no difference between the two. So I have to get a camcorder with an external microphone jack. That is my next goal.

Calling all FUMPers

The Radical Geek is going to be at MarcCon in Minneapolis, MN and would like to do an episode to The FuMP and comedy music scene.  Respond back if you would like to be on my podcast?

Episode 3 and No Feedback

It’s been a while since I posted but I want to give you an update on the next episode that’s in the works.  I have subject matter for the next 3 episodes.  I plan to have a show on a local hacker space Interlock Rochester, local software company No Tie Software, and paranormal researchers First Hand Paranormal.

I see that people haven’t been giving me feedback to my videos or blog postings.  Am I that boring or uninteresting?  Can I get your feedback on that?

Sound Quality

Just listening to my latest episode and I find that the sound quality could be better. I need to get a better setup.

Episode 1-2: BarCamp Rochester

In this Episode I went to BarCamp Rochester at the Rochester Institute Technology in Rochester, NY. This convention is called an unconvention. That means that people that come have a presentation prepared and will pick a time slot in one of the reserved room. Not only did they have presentation but also there was the local hacker space Interlock Rochester, The RIT student organization call Security Practices and Research Student Association(SPARSA) had a lock picking demonstration, and Innovation Trail from NPR was there interview people in their sound booth.
