In episode 7, I go to the Rochester Sci-fi and Anime Convention a.k.a. Roc-Con. This is a Sci-fi/Anime Convention in Rochester, NY, and I interview the groups at the con. First interview is with the Center for Paranormal Investigation Association(CPIA), a local ghost hunting group that is part of the TAPS family. They talk about ghost hunting and the equipment they use. Second is the 501st Legion’s Garrison Excelsior of the Empire in the Star Wars universe. The talk about making costumes, and the charity and public service they do.
Thirdly is the Cosplayers Movie, a romantic comedy about cosplayers and their trials and tribulations. Also find out a little move about cosplaying. Fourth group interviewed is Rochester, NY Ghostbusters, a Ghostbusters fan group where the will talk about the props they make based on the movies and cartoons and their public appearances. Lastly it’s the Lego Robotics Camps that teach kids about robotics to navigate around challenges that they have to program to overcome.

I have been kicking around the idea for a costume from the movie Robot Monster. The monster was a gorilla suit and antique dive helmet. Looks like the dive helmet is going to be a problem. I will keep brainstorming on it.

I always wanted to improve the sound and now I can. Just got a new microphone and mounting bracket so the sound is better.

I’ve always thought the sound quality could be better, so I have ordered a shotgun condenser microphone and a mounting bracket. So for future episodes I hope that the sound is better.

I’m taking the Radical Geek on hiatus for the podcast. I hope to get some addition equipment like a a shotgun mic, a mounting bracket and a new laptop. My old laptop is broken and needs to get replaced. Also it’s getting hard to find people to interview on my show but hopefully I can get working on it. If you have any suggestions send them to radicalgeek at gmaildotcom. In other news is that I had an idea of nerdy music show called the Mad Hatter’s Party. It will be having nerdcore hip hop, comedy music, chip tunes, and video game music. Only problem with this is money, so it will most likely not happen.

This is part 2 of 2 of the series on Comedy Music. It this episode I interview Chris Mezzolesta of Power Salad(www.powersalad.com). Power Salad is a comedy music group offering obscurely skewed and head-scratchingly funny views of life, wrapped up in different musical styles like wieners in blankets. Then we talk to Jared Ringold of Possible Oscar(www.possibleoscar.com). Possible Oscar is a Minneapolis, MN based comedy music act that specializes in original and parody songs. Their topics range from video games to nerd love, with stops at comic books and notable Hollywood movie sound effects. Many of the artist in part 1 and 2 can be found at The Funny Music Project(www.thefump.com).
