Ditched Openshot for Kdenlive

I’ve changed what video editing software I’m going to be using for the project.  I updated to Openshot 1.3 but the same issue is happening with in crashing when saving a project and opening it back up.  So now I’m going to be using Kdenlive as the video editing software.  It does crash when saving the a project but it does open backup.

Vimeo

I just created an account with Vimeo.  It’s a site that allows people to share there video creations.  So I have space to put my video when I get to shooting it.

More planning

I’ve been looking more into the technical details of the show.  I’m thinking of keeping Openshot as my video editing software.  Also going to be using ogg/ogv open source video.  One reason it is available with no licensing fees.  The other is that I want to have the show be open source because I feel that it expresses what radical geekdom is about.  The other thing I need to research is obtaining a creative commons license.

Who knew…

…that making your dream a reality tough.  It was a dream I had for years to do a video podcast.  It is a learning process with how to shoot video and edit it.  I’m working with Openshot video editor but that has limitations.  I’m trying to do an opening and closing sequence and that can be difficult.  I’m thinking of trying another video editor to see if it is easier.

Expirementing With Video

Took my laptop, webcam and microphone with me to Comics Etc to shoot some video.  Didn’t get a chance to shoot the video I wanted with a camera tethered to a laptop.  This means I should get a video camera.  Hopefully something with a tripod and a microphone jack.

I’m not dead yet!

OK if anyone has read my blog there is nothing to read.  Getting started has been a long process with it being on again, off again.  Don’t worry I plan on getting my video podcast up.  I’ve been experimenting with Kamoso with recording with my webcam.  Hopefully this will get off the ground.  Add some links for some other podcasts I enjoy.  Hope to have this up and running in 2011.
